Lauradel E. “Laurie” Carson, 88, of Ord went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Ord First United Methodist Church. Pastor Kyle Campise will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Ord City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Ord First United Methodist Church, St. Jude’s or the Family’s Choice. Ord Memorial Chapel is assisting with the arrangements. Lauradel Elsie Sautter was born on March 3, 1936, at Horace, Nebraska to Elmer and Elsie (Meyer) Sautter. She graduated in 1954 from Scotia High School.
On August 24, 1958, Laurie was united in marriage to the love of her life, Duane Carson at the Fish Creek Church. The couple was blessed with three children, Kim, Mark and Neal.
Laurie worked as a receptionist and nurse at the North Loup Clinic for many years and then was a surgery nurse at the Valley County Hospital for over 20 years. Following her nursing career she helped at the family grocery store, Carson’s IGA.
Laurie was baptized, confirmed and married in the Fish Creek United Brethren Church. She was well known as a prayer warrior and for her devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was passionate about starting small group bible studies and enjoyed hosting them in her home. She loved listening to Christian music. She was a member of the Ord First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women where she held several offices over the years.
Laurie enjoyed their family vacations and watching their children and grandchildren in all their sports activities.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Duane of Ord, a daughter, Kim Carson of Lincoln, two sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Sallie Carson of Lewiston, Idaho and Neal and Kathy Carson of Ord; five grandchildren and their spouses, Seth Carson (Sarah), Sarah Conner (Calvin), Nicole Isaac (Anthony), Andrea Dawe (Kaden) and Ashley Carson; three great-grandchildren, Lawrence Carson and Bradley and Drew Isaac; and several very special nieces and nephews.
Lauradel will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Dean, Kenneth, and Gilbert; and a sister, Lucille Hermsmeyer.
