Albin Eugene was born September 6, 1939, to Stanley and Bessie (Mach) Bruha in the family home near Burwell, Nebraska. He was raised on the family farm and received his early education at District #32 Country School. While attending Burwell High School, Albin lived in town with his grandmother Mach, boarded for a year, stayed with a friend, then drove to school his senior year and graduated in 1958.
Following high school, he worked with his family on the farm until his marriage to Alice Kirby. Albin and Alice met at a dance at Jungman Hall and were united in marriage on April 12, 1959, at the Ord Methodist Church. The couple moved to a farm west of Ord and were blessed with six children, Richard, Karen, David, Angie, Kent and Galen. Albin and Alice farmed west of Ord where they spent their entire married life. Alice passed away on July 12, 2014.
Albin served on the District #29 School Board. He enjoyed polka and country music and the couple attended countless dances together. Albin also enjoyed attending garage sales and auctions and playing cards. Family events and his grandchildren were all very special to him. He made wood-burnt cutting boards for his family and spent time tinkering on the farm.
