Jana L. (Blaha) Edghill, 62, of Ord passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, February 16, 2024.
Jana’s wishes were to be cremated. The family will honor her life by receiving friends on Wednesday, February 21, 2024; from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Jana Lin was born December 18, 1961, to Donald E. and Sharon N. (Wallace) Blaha at Ord, Nebraska. She grew up in Ord where she received her education and graduated from Ord High School in 1980.
Following high school, Jana continued her education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. On March 21, 1987, Jana was united in marriage to Alan Lee Edghill at Ord, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with three children.
While making their home in Ord, Jana worked in various capacities, including the Snack Shack, St. Mary’s School, McDonald’s and Professional Eye Care. However, she will be remembered by her ownership of Jana’s School of Dancing; where she was a dance instructor from 1976 to 2010. Jana and Alan also shared in many business ventures included Edghill Motor’s, The Cutting Edge and Riverside Trailer Court.
Jana was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Nebraska Twin Convention; and enjoyed being a member of the Women’s and Couples Golf and Bowling Leagues.
Traveling and cruising with her family and long car rides with her husband were among her favorite things to do. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, scrapbooking, reading and gambling.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Alan; father, Donald Blaha; mother, Sharon Blaha; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kristin and Mike Schernikau and Katy Edghill; a son and daughter-in-law, Austin and Taylor Edghill; three grandchildren, Deacon, Winry and Evie; two sisters and brothers-in-law, her twin, Jody and Paul Machal and Carol and Greg Smith; a brother and sister-in-law, Russ and Sheri Blaha; and her fur baby, Greta.
She was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Ardith “Bob” and Geneva Edghill; maternal grandparents, Opal “Maxine” Wallace and Al Wallace; and paternal grandparents, Edward and Emma Blaha.
