William H. “Bill” Ronzzo, 66, of Ord passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023; at the Valley County Health System Hospital.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023; at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord, Nebraska. Father Scott Harter will be the Celebrant. Inurnment will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by the Ord VFW Post #7029 and American Legion Post #38. Memorials are suggested to the Avenue of Flags. William “Bill” was born December 14, 1956, at Burwell, Nebraska to Virgil M. and Rosalie (Adamek) Ronzzo. Following his Mom’s death, he was raised by Don and Dee Adamek and lived in Beaver City, Nebraska and Leadville and Buena Vista, Colorado where he graduated from high school in 1974.
Bill served in the United States Army. Following his discharge in 1976, worked at the State of Nebraska Department of Roads and Rose Bud Reservation while living in Valentine. When he moved to the Ord area he worked for L&W Tire Department and the City of Ord He later moved to Grand Island and worked at Eakes Office Supply.
On June 18, 1981, Bill married Sharon Ball. To this union, two children were born. They lived in Arkansas and Bill repaired small engines and also worked at a wiring company. He returned to Nebraska and Colorado, and for past fourteen years he has made his home in Ord.
He was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and past member of the Ord Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping; and watching old westerns, especially John Wayne movies. Bill was an avid football fan; never missing a Denver Bronco or Nebraska Husker game on T.V. He especially loved his dogs, Herbie and Husker.
Survivors include his children, Megan Atchison of Arkansas and Nickolas and Laura Ronzzo of Texas; two grandsons, Colten and Hunter Ronzzo; his parents that raised him, Don and Dee Adamek of Colorado; brothers, Larry and Barb Ronzzo of Idaho, Kenneth Ronzzo of Ord, Gerald and Jane Ronzzo of Omaha, Dennis and Polly Adamek of Colorado and Doug and Maria Adamek of Puerto Rico; sisters, Sheree and Wayne Brown of Ord and Diana Dalla of Colorado; six nieces; five nephews; twenty-three great nieces and nephews; and eight great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his biological parents; three nieces; one nephew; and a half-brother, Monte Ronzzo.
