Derick S. Kaslon, 37, of Ord passed away unexpectedly at his home in Ord.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023, at the Heartland Assembly of God Church in Ord. Pastor Tom Burkholder will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by Ord VFW Post #7029 and American Legion Post #38. Memorials are suggested to his daughter, Haezel Kaslon. Derick Scott was born April 17, 1986, at Kearney, Nebraska to David A. and Diane Kay (Markvicka) Kaslon. He was raised in Ord where he graduated from Ord High School in 2004.
Following high school Derick joined the United States Air Force. While in the service he married Georgina Nicol in 2013, in England. To this union a daughter, Haezel was born. Derick was medically discharged from the Air Force as a Staff Sergeant where he was lastly stationed at RAF Menwith Hill at Knaresborough, England. He then returned to his hometown of Ord in 2015.
In August of 2019, Derick married Denarae Bruha. The couple made their home in Ord. Derick worked in various capacities, upon his passing he was employed at BD in Columbus.
Derick enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking; and was an avid fan of WWE Wrestling. His life revolved around his daughter, Haezel.
Survivors include his daughter, Haezel of Ord; his mother and step-father, Diane and Ray Smith of Roseland; his father, Dave Kaslon of Ord; a sister and brother-in-law, Deandra and Kevin Kurtenbach of Kearney; step brothers, Josh, Donald, Ethan and Colin Smith; grandmothers, Renae Markvicka and Jeri Brainard; grandfather, Carl Kaslon; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Denarae; grandmother, Audrey Kaslon; grandfather, Alvin Markvicka; and step-grandfather, Larry Brainard.
