Jerome “Jerry” L. Zulkoski, 64, of Ord passed away at his home in rural Ord, Nebraska.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022; at the First United Methodist Church in Ord. Pastor Tom Burkholder will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Family’s Choice. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Jerome Lee was born at home in northeast Valley County near Ericson, Nebraska on September 11, 1958, to Edmund and Dixie (Stone) Zulkoski. He was raised in the Springdale Township of Valley County where he received his early education then came into Ord where he attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Ord High School in 1977.
Being brought up on the family farm, Jerry enjoyed farming and livestock. He spent his working years as a mechanic and heavy machinery operator. He lived his entire life in Ord; and worked at S&M Implement Dealership, a Hay Company, and Valley County Department of Roads. Lastly, he was the yard boss at the Lumberyard.
Jerry enjoyed many outdoor activities; hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and riding his Harley. He traveled with his family on road trips, hosted Triangular Camping groups and recovery group conventions across the state. Jerry also enjoyed playing cards with his family; and attending events for motorcycles, hot rod cars and guns. His grandchildren will remember spending time with him at the river, checking on the baby calves and riding horses and 4-Wheelers.
Jerry was affiliated with many clubs including the N.R.A., Pheasants Forever, Karp & Krow, Valley Rods Unlimited, and Harley Owners Group. He was a past member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and was recently attending Heartland Assembly of God Church. Jerry had a strong bond with his recovery group family and was thankful for their support and friendships.
Jerry is survived by his father, Edmund of Ord; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Adam Zulkoski and Jared and Sarah Zulkoski all of Ord; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kirstyn and Adam Hansen of Ord; Rachelle Zulkoski of Ft. Lupton, Colorado and Alyssa and Ryan Shurter of Cheyenne, Wyoming; seven grandchildren; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Marty Zulkoski of Hastings, Doug Zulkoski and Todd and Pam Zulkoski all of Ord; a sister and brother-in-law, Denice and Iry Grigg of Bladen; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dixie; an infant brother, James Dean Zulkoski; and a nephew, Shawn Iry Grigg.
