Jonathan “Jonny” Koch, 22, of Lincoln formerly of Ord passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022; as a result of an automobile accident at Lincoln, Nebraska.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022; at the First United Methodist Church in Ord, Nebraska. Pastor Kyle Campise will officiate. Cremation will take place following the service. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Church. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations and gifts can be directed to the family’s choice to be determined at a later date to honor Jonny’s giving spirit and generous heart. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Jonathan Cole was born December 1, 1999; at Ord, Nebraska to Bruce D. and Kimberly K. (Wheeler) Koch. He was raised in Ord where he received his early education and graduated from Ord High School in 2018.
Following high school Jonny moved to Lincoln where he graduated from Southeast Community College in May of 2021. Jonny developed his career; working at Pinnacle Bank and recently in HR for HR Systems at Stonebrook in Lincoln.
Jonny’s free spirit; along with his caring and giving personality describe the young man that everyone knew and loved. He was a hard worker, competitor and very dedicated to his family, friends and co-workers; and was especially proud to be an Uncle.
Jonny was a member of the Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ord and was a generous donor of many charities including the Animal Society.
Jonny lit up a room and filled it with his smiles and singing. He had a knack for crafts, growing plants and artwork. His favorite pastimes were traveling and spoiling those around him with gifts. He will be remembered by reaching out to others and asking “Do you like it?”.
Survivors include his loving parents, Bruce and Kim Koch of Ord; two brothers, Austin and (Tiana) Koch of Wahoo; Brett Koch and Cassie Brenner of Lincoln; two sisters, Kayla and Jake Kelley of Springfield, South Dakota and Kaleigh and Clayton Keown of Yankton, South Dakota; his nephew, Crew Kelley; two expectants nieces or nephews; grandmother, Bonita Parks of Ord; grandmother, Linda Caldwell of Lincoln; grandparents, Mervin and Dawnetta Johnson of Hershey; his dog and companion, Tokyo; and a host of family and friends. Jonny never knew a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Lyle Wheeler; grandfather, Jacob Koch; aunt, JoLynn Buck; and his friend, sister, and partner in crime, Cassie Brenner who passed away shortly after Jonny.
