Gerald Frank was born November 16, 1935, at Brown County, Nebraska to Oscar and Gertrude (Johnson) Einspahr. In 1942, his family moved to a farm 10 miles east of Arcadia. Cork attended District #47 and Hayes Creek Schools until he began helping on the family farm.
In 1959, Cork joined the United States Army and was stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Germany. In 1961 he returned home and worked at Bushman Construction and the following year he began working at Co-op Oil Company; later became the manager. For three years he worked at B-D in Broken Bow and at Middle Loup Irrigation District until 1975. At that time he began farming and raising cattle. For over 30 years he drove the school bus for the Arcadia Public School.
On February 1, 1959, Cork was united in marriage to Nancy Pearson at Arcadia, Nebraska. Cork and Nancy lived their entire married life in the Arcadia area, settling on a farm five miles east of Arcadia. They were a very dedicated and inseparable couple. Nancy passed away on September 15, 2018. Cork remained on the farm until 2020, when he moved to Broken Bow where his sister-in-law, Mary Lou Petersen cared for him.
Cork and Nancy were passionate about raising animals, especially miniature horses. Cork had a love for airplanes and air shows. He was a country music fan, played the guitar and sang country songs. You always knew Cork was around by his whistle.
He was a member of the Arcadia Rural Fire Board; serving as Treasurer and Secretary and was instrumental in building the Arcadia Fire Hall.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Marlene Einspahr of Arcadia; many Einspahr and Pearson relatives; and a host of friends.
