Theodore Lee Dehart, 84, of Burwell, Nebraska passed away March 29, 2022 at his home peacefully with his family present.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2022 at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Burwell. Pastor Alan Petersen will officiate. Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday at Hitchcock Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family for a later designation.
Theodore, know as “Ted” was born April 19, 1937 to Frank and Ethel (Poor) Dehart in Garfield County, Nebraska. Ted lived outside of Burwell all of his life. He married Betty Lou Max of Cozad, Nebraska on January 3, 1978. Ted had three stepchildren, Deb, Mike and Darrin Max. They lived on Ted’s family land north of Burwell. Ted was a heavy equipment operator of Cass Construction all of his life. He ran a 627 Cat Scrapper and a D8 Cat Dozer for 40 plus years until he retired. Ted loved going to watch and Mike and Darrin’s football games and wrestling events. Ted was also a Husker Football fanatic. On of his favorite things was getting together with Mike and Darrin to watch Husker football.
Ted is survived by his step son Darrin and Shareen Max. Step daughter-in-law, Kelly Max. A step daughter Deb Timm. A granddaughter Megan Max. Step grandchildren, Tagge and Kelli Max, Lindsey Sears. Step great grandchildren Jesa Anderson, Jannessa Morrison, Jace Morrison, Olivia Sears, Colby Lane and Enola Mae Max. A brother Richard Dehart.
Ted was preceded in death boy his parents Frank and Ethel. Sisters Hazel, Polly and Lucille. A brother, Jim. A step son Mike Max. His wife Betty and a grandson Ben Max.
