Jone M. Bosworth, 57, of Ord died suddenly on December 7, 2021.
Jone was cremated and laid to rest in the family plot at the Ord City Cemetery during a small family ceremony on December 27, 2021.
A Celebration of Life for Jone will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022; at The Archway, 3060 E 1st Street in Kearney, Nebraska. A lunch buffet will be served following the ceremony.

In lieu of flowers memorials will be donated to a scholarship fund for Native American women or a donation can be made in Jone’s name to any women’s or children’s program.
Jone was born in Omaha on January 31, 1964, and adopted at birth by Edward and Elaine Bosworth of Arcadia, Nebraska. When Jone was 3 years old, the family moved to Ord, Nebraska. Jone graduated from Ord High School in 1982. In high school she as active in volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, and choir.
After high school she went to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and majored in English. It was after college that she started moving and living around the world. She worked for a short time in Nebraska, then in 1990, moved to Japan and taught English in and around Tokyo. She worked and traveled all through Asia during the next four years.
After returning to the United States, Jone was accepted to the University Of Nebraska School Of Law in 1994. After earning a J.D., she was accepted into the U.S. Foreign Service program. She trained in Washington D.C., and then worked in Mexico City and Nairobi, Kenya. After leaving the Foreign Service program she had a few jobs, and then in 2003 went to work for the state of Nevada as head of their Child Welfare division. After leaving Nevada she worked for a short time in St. Louis before being named the inaugural Secretary of Early Childhood Learning for the state of Washington in 2006.
After leaving that administration she returned to St. Louis and worked with many local entities. In 2015, she took a job in Eagle County Colorado as their Executive Director of the Department of Human Services. She was there for a few years and then once again relocated back to St. Louis. By this time, she was working as a consultant for strategic planning and worked with many companies and government agencies around the country.
In 2019, Jone moved back to Ord, Nebraska to live with her mother to help her after some health issues. She was living in Ord when she passed away.
In her lifetime she lived, worked, or traveled to every continent except for Antarctica. Her passions were helping women and children to get the treatment and equal rights they deserved. She was never shy about pointing out any problems that were holding either group back. She was a very driven and gregarious person who worked to find the best result she could for anyone’s plight. Her friends were numerous and scattered around the world.
Jone is survived by her mother, Elaine Bosworth of Ord, Nebraska; her sister, Sue Fitzgerald of Kearney, Nebraska; her brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Julie Bosworth of Olathe, Kansas; four nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Bosworth.
