Burwell, Nebraska. The American Legion, Clifford Clark Post No. 298 is pleased to announce a raffle, for a fundraiser, for the new Post home’s kitchen in 2022. The Craig and Elizabeth Jones family have donated a Weatherby SA-459 semi-automatic shotgun in memory of Craig’s Dad, Dr. Clyde Jones, a 1952 graduate of Burwell High School, and Clyde’s brother, a 1944 graduate of Burwell High School, John Carlyle Jones, PVT US Marine Corps whom served in World War II and died on Iwo Jima on February 26, 1945.
“The raffle for the Weatherby SA-459 semi-automatic shotgun will only have 250 tickets to be sold.” Commander Donald Christen stated “the raffle is a fundraiser for the new Post home’s kitchen.” Commander Christen said “you may purchase a raffle ticket from Legion Post 298’s Board of Directors and members.” Contact Marshall Smith at 308.631.6835 or Billy Warren at 308.214.1336 for more information.
American Legion Post No. 298 is working toward building a new Post Home in 2022. A Donation and Pledge Form can be picked up at Trotter’s Whoa and Go in Burwell.
