
Virginia C. Boyce, 81, of Ord passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021, at the CHI St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.
Mrs. Boyce’s wishes were to be cremated. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021; at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. Father Mark Maresh will be the Celebrant. Private inurnment will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Family’s Choice. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Virginia Cecelia was born May 14, 1940, in rural Valley County, Nebraska to Lloyd and Velma (Palu) Konkoleski. At the age of two her family moved to a ranch north of Ord where they resided until she was four years old and then relocated to a farm northeast of Elyria. Virginia received her education at District #63 at Elyria and graduated from Ord High School in 1958.
On July 25, 1959, Virginia was united in marriage to Harold Boyce at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Elyria. The couple was blessed with six children. They made their home in the rural Elyria and Ord areas. After moving into Ord in 1968, Virginia successfully completed Nurse Aide classes at the Ord Hospital. She then worked at the Ord Hospital as a Nurse Aide in the hospital and nursing home for 15 years. She then went to work at the Ord High School for 15 years where she enjoyed preparing meals for the students, who she said, were such good kids.
Virginia was a member Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing cards, and going to the casino. She will be remembered as an excellent cook and baker. Virginia especially enjoyed spending time with her family and extended family.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Harold of Ord; four sons and daughters-in-law, Gregg and Jeanne of Show Low, AZ, Doug, Kelly and Sandy, and Tim and Shelley all of Ord; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janell and Shawn Brock of Yankton, South Dakota and Michelle and Jade Stunkel of Ord; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Daryl and Carol Konkoleski of Lincoln; and two sisters, Marlion Bruha of Ord and Louise Suchanek of San Dimas, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Larry, Wayne, Mike and David Konkoleski.
