Roger was born on March 9, 1941 on a farm in Greeley County the son of Donald and Lois (Mitchell) Davis. He graduated from Scotia High School class of 1959. On June 18, 1960 he was united in marriage to his High School sweetheart Ruby Morrow. This loving and enduring union was blessed with four children, Roxann, Randy, Rollin and Rachelle. The family farmed and ranched north of Scotia for over 50 years and Roger loved his farm till the end.
Roger was a friendly and hardworking man and he lived to visit with anyone, no one was ever a stranger to Roger. He liked to attend farm and livestock auctions, any kind of ballgames and the many school events his kids and grands were in. He especially loved the times he spent at coffee with the guys in St. Paul. After retiring he restored his father-in-law’s 1947 Oliver Cletrac and a John Deere 60 with a grandson. The greatest accomplishment in his life was his family and the legacy and lessons he left them will never be forgotten by them.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Ruby. Roger and Ruby were married for 61 years and were together for 65. Their four children include: Roxann (Rich) Webb of Grand Island, Randy (Katie) Davis of Scotia, Rollin (Jennifer) Davis of Ord and Rachelle (Russ) Warnke of Grand Island, 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren with one on the way and one great-great granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard Davis and his parents-in-law, Glen and Ethel Morrow.
