Arthur L. “Art” Genereux, 40, of Ericson passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021, in Greeley County, Nebraska.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at the Wheeler Central High School Gymnasium in Bartlett, Nebraska. Pastor Duane Waddle will officiate. Interment will be in the Bartlett Cemetery. Friends can sign the register book on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the gymnasium. Online condolences may be left at www.ordmemorialchapel.com. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Family’s Choice. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. For the health and safety of others social distancing and face masks are required for those attending.
Arthur Leo was born October 3, 1980, at Chadron, Nebraska to Arthur and Karen (Boelter) Genereux. He lived at rural Hay Springs, Nebraska before moving to Ashland, Nebraska in 1984. At the age of 6 the family moved to an acreage by Memphis, Nebraska. Art attended Mead Public School through the 4th grade and in July of 1991, the family moved to Bartlett, Nebraska. He graduated from Wheeler Central High School in 1999.
He worked on the family ranch near Bartlett for his grandparents and later attended Southeast Community College in Lincoln where he received his diploma in small engine repair in 2004.
Art worked at Harley Davidson Dealerships in Grand Island and Rapid City, South Dakota. He returned to Nebraska and worked for Pillen’s; and local farmers and ranchers. Most recently he was working for Dobias Excavating; and the family ranch. He also enjoyed working his own cattle herd.
On October 1, 2011, Art was united in marriage to Tina Tamayo at Ord, Nebraska. The couple and their two children, Hailey, age 16 and Trenton, age 11 made their home in Ericson.
Art enjoyed the outdoors; ranching, camping and going to the lake. He was very social, spending time with family and friends and especially enjoyed attending the kid’s activities.
Survivors include his wife, Tina; and their two children, Hailey and Trenton all of Ericson; his parents, Arthur and Karen Genereux of Bartlett; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Christi and Tim Larby and Kim and Craig Dobias all of Atkinson and Ellie and Rob Ita of Ericson; a brother, Louis Genereux of Bartlett; father-in-law, Armando Tamayo of North Loup, mother-in-law, Nancy Anderson of St. Paul; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jennifer and Craig Critel of Burwell, Jared and April Rice of St. Paul, Cathy and Chris Ford, Shaina and Josh Jensen and Armando Tamayo all of North Loup, and Kayla and Tyler Melnick of Ord; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis and Mary Genereux and Boyd and Ella Boelter; uncle, Bob Boelter; and cousin, Michael Dugan.
