Donald Dale Dawe, 75, of Burwell, Nebraska died November 4, 2020 at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the Burwell Baptist Church in Burwell. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Burwell. Pastor Joel Wentworth will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Burwell Baptist Church.
Don was born December 15, 1944 in Ord, Nebraska to George and Elsie (Hood) Dawe. After Don graduated from Burwell High School, he went to Briercrest Bible College in Canada. This is where he met Janet Lombard. They were married in Wausau, Wisconsin on June 17, 1967. After college they lived in Wausau for two years before returning to Nebraska. They moved to Burwell in 1974.
Don was a carpenter and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Burwell Baptist Church.
Don is survived by two children, David and Dee-El Dawe of Papillion, Nebraska and Jennifer and Roger Maris of McCook, Nebraska. A son-in-law, Mike Widener of Bridgeport, Nebraska. Seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A brother, Ken and Myrna Dawe of Burwell, Nebraska and two sisters, Donna Sears of Arcadia, Nebraska and Linda and Gary Mackrill of Cathay, North Dakota.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a daughter Amy Widener.
