Doris Faye Reineke, 72, of Burwell, Nebraska died February 12, 2020 at the Valley County Health Systems Hospital in Ord, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2020 at the United Methodist Church in Burwell. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Burwell. Pastor Dennis Davenport and Pastor Lyle Dempster will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 – 7 p.m. at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell. Memorials are suggested to the Burwell Ambulance Fund or Community Memorial Health Center.
Doris was born September 1, 1947 in Boise, Idaho. She grew up in Callaway, Nebraska with her parents Clarence and Nora Tubbs and her brothers, Charley Lloyd and Jack Tubbs. Doris graduated from Callaway High School in 1965. She worked as a CNA at the Callaway Nursing Home until she married Marvin Reineke on February 20, 1967 and they lived in Broken Bow, Nebraska. They later moved to Burwell where Doris drove a truck at the Alfalfa Mill. In 1989 she received her LPN degree and worked at Community Memorial Health Center until 2009. Marvin died on November 5, 2017.
Doris enjoyed singing, camping, gardening, her grandkids, some sporting events, and vacationing with her family.
Doris always said, “That there were no steps in our family. The only steps led to the house.”
Doris is survived by seven children, Delynn Hoover of Dunning, Nebraska, Bob and Angie Reineke of Elm Creek, Nebraska, Kim Reineke and Tim Churchill of Burwell, Nebraska, Kathy Casey and friend Keith Nadeau of Miami, Florida, Kaylene and Kirk McCarville of Burwell, Nebraska, Kelcy and Tony Tipsword of Burwell, Nebraska and Billy and Liza Reineke of Ericson, Nebraska. Thirty-one grandchildren, forty-six greatchildren and one great-greatgrandchild. Two brothers, Charley and Reita Lloyd of Callaway, Nebraska and Jack and Donna Tubbs of Kearney, Nebraska.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Jerry Lloyd, Dwight Lloyd and Wynn Lloyd, a grandson, Jayden Churchill, a son-in-law, Rick Casey, a nephew, Jamie Lloyd and a grandson-in-law, Michael Spotanski.
