Kathryn M. Turek, 79, of Ord passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019, at the CHI Good Samaritan Medical Center in Kearney.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. Father Mark Maresh will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Kathryn Mary was born September 5, 1939, at Ord, Nebraska to Frank A. and Gertrude Mary (Socha) Piskorski. She was raised in Ord and graduated from Ord High School in 1957.
Kathryn served in the United States Army for a short time. On December 31, 1964, she was united in marriage to Milton Turek at Ord, Nebraska. The couple spent their married life in Ord. Kathryn delivered the Grand Island Independent for many years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and was an avid animal lover.
She is survived by her husband, Milton of Ord; one daughter Robin of Phoenix, AZ; a brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Joyce Piskorski of North Platte; and a host of nieces, nephews and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; and one sister.
