After six years of preparation and construction by local contractor, Hackel Construction Inc., the City of Ord’s families will be able to spend their summers at a new pool, The Alfred & Irma Burson Aquatic Center.
The City of Ord announced this month the new pool’s opening date for the summer of 2019 and is scheduled to open May 24, 2019 with a grand opening and celebration on June 15, 2019.
During the grand opening and celebration, there will be free swimming and a community BBQ.
The $3.5 million facility, funded by grants and tax dollars, only has a few things left to complete the aquatic center: landscaping, a Burson Memorial and the Donor Wall.
