Joan McIlravy, 83, of Ord passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Bryan LGH East Medical Center in Lincoln.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. Father Tom Ryan will officiate. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Loup City. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Family’s Choice to be designated at a later date. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Emma Joan was born February 25, 1935, on the Stone Ranch near Culbertson, Nebraska to Gilbert and Elizabeth (Price) Robarchek. She was raised on the ranch and received her education at Culbertson.
On December 26, 1953, Joan was united in marriage to William B. McIlravy at McCook, Nebraska. To this union seven children were born. The family resided in various towns while Bill worked for the Bureau of Reclamation. In 1978, they settled in Ord where Joan worked in various capacities at the Valley County Health System.
Joan was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was involved in the Crimson Angels and was a Hospice Caregiver. Joan enjoyed her family and taking walks with her friend, Kerry Drahota.
Joan will be remembered by her beautiful smile and her kind heart.
Survivors include her seven children and their spouses, Will and Dawn McIlravy of Prescott, AZ, Carolyn McIlravy of Ord; Carrie Osberg of Ord; Mary and Bill Thomas of York, Susan and Roger Hall of Exeter, Tim and Dawn McIlravy of York and Kevin McIlravy of Ord; 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Dike of McCook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill who passed away on November 23, 2010; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Carolyn Robarchek; and a brother-in-law, Robert Dike.
