On May 8, 1964 she was united in marriage to Lawrence R. Weiner in Iowa. The couple made their home in Council Bluffs and Pleasant Valley, IA, moving to North Loup in 1968. Jesslyn had a passion for children and seeing them thrive. She began foster care while living in North Loup. In 1979 they moved to Burwell. While in Burwell they opened a group home for girls which later would help girls and boys. Over the years they would foster and make an impact on 146 children.
