LOUP CITY – Mildred M. Lewandowski, 97, of Loup City, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024, at the Rose Lane Home in Loup City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. Rev. Richard L. Piontkowski will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Loup City.
Visitation will be held 1 hour before time of Mass on Saturday, with a 9:45 a.m. Rosary.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Mildred was born July 29, 1927, on a farm northeast of Arcadia, the daughter of Adolph and Julia (Pokorney) Nevrivy. She attended District No. 69 Sunny Slope School in the area and worked with her parents on the family farm.
She was united in marriage to Emil M. Lewandowski on May 29, 1948, in Loup City. The couple northeast of Sherman Dam on the Lewandowski Homestead. Mildred worked alongside Emil on the farm. In 1975 the couple moved into Loup City.
Emil died on Jan. 9, 1992. Mildred continued to live in her home until 2019 when she moved into the Rose Lane Home, where she lived the rest of her life.
She was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women.
She enjoyed gardening, baking, embroidery work, raising and dressing chickens and making cookies for her neighbor boys. Family was everything to Mildred.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Burnett of St. Paul; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Kathy Lewandowski of Ashton; five grandchildren, Scott Lewandowski of Ashton, Kristi Lewandowski of St. Paul, Misty and Nick Mitchell of Fairplay, SC, Jason and Amy Ummel of Ashton and J.J. Ummel of Grand Island; five great-grandchildren, Maverick, Owen, Liam, McKenzie and Maddie; and several great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Emil, she was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Richard Lewandowski; son, Duane “Duke” Lewandowski; son-in-law, Dennis Burnett; grandson, Dustin Lewandowski; brother, Jerry Nevrivy; and sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Paul Seuper.
