GRAND ISLAND — The Grand Island Police are investigating after a 65-year-old woman reported being scammed into sending money in the form of Bitcoin.
According to the Grand Island Police Department, the woman reported a theft of $4,000. She stated that she was deceived into sending the funds via Bitcoin to correct an alleged error related to a payment for Norton Security, an anti-virus and anti-malware software product.
The GIPD is currently investigating the case.
