In Grand Island, Nebraska, prosecutors have filed charges against Brandon Bahensky, aged 34, the son of the director of the Hall County Detention Center (HCDC). Bahensky faces six drug-related charges and one weapons offense, including possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, and possession of a deadly weapon during a felony.
Following a search of Bahensky’s residence in north Grand Island by the Tri-Cities Drug Enforcement Team on Monday, significant quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, cocaine, heroin, and marijuana were discovered, along with drug paraphernalia and a 9mm handgun with ammunition, according to court records.
HCDC director Todd Bahensky acknowledged that Brandon is his son but stated that decisions regarding his son’s detention were made by the assistant director. Brandon Bahensky has since been moved to the Buffalo County Detention Center in Kearney, as per Todd Bahensky. He added that relatives of jail staff are typically housed in a separate facility.
During a hearing in Hall County on Tuesday, a judge set Brandon Bahensky’s bond at $300,000 and scheduled a probable cause hearing for his case on June 11.
