Margaret L. Grabowski, 83, of Ord entered into the beauty of Heaven on Sunday, May 5, 2024, in the presences of her loving family while residing at Arbor Care Center in Ord, Nebraska.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2024; at Our Lady of Perpetual Church. Father Scott Harter will be the Mass Celebrant. Burial will be in Ord Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the Church from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s School or Arbor Care Center. Margaret L. was born June 14, 1940, at Ord, Nebraska to Anton and Rose (Moravecek) Radil. She resided in the Ord and Burwell areas all of her life; graduating from Ord High School in 1957.
On November 12, 1957, Margaret was united in marriage to Vernon Grabowski at the Geranium Catholic Church west of Ord, Nebraska. The couple purchased a farm north of Burwell from Margaret’s aunt, Emma Radil. They farmed raised cattle, hogs and chickens. They were blessed with two daughters, Vernyce on February 3, 1962 and Vaylene on November 10, 1964.
Margaret worked hard beside Vernon on the farm and also was employed at various other jobs throughout her life. Her jobs including the Burwell Hospital as a nurse’s aid, the Bureau of Reclamation, Valley County Jail and Timberline Marketing. Following retirement, Margaret was very involved in the Catholic Faith and worked diligently to be a servant of God. She enjoyed every minute she was able to spend with her many great friends. Everywhere she went she knew someone and would visit for hours with them.
Margaret was very involved in the Red Hat Club. She looked forward to dressing up and going out to lunch or parties with her great friends wearing a purple or red hat. She loved a good game of cards and won the majority of the time.
She also attended many polka dances; and knew how to dance from the time she learned how to walk. Socializing and going on casino trips with friends were more of her favorite hobbies.
Margaret is survived by her eldest daughter and her family, Vernyce and Will Weber, grandson, Clinton (Megan) Olcott; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Lance, Natalie and Jamison; grandson, Clayton (Jessica) Olcott; great-grandchildren, Skyler and Payton; her youngest daughter and her family, Vaylene Grabowski; grandsons, William (Emily) David, Wayland (fiancé’, Maureena) David and Wyatt David. Other survivors include a sister, Evelyn Kamarad; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Paul Geneski; brother and sister-in-law, George and Leona Radil; and many dear relatives. She was undoubtedly delighted to be united in Heaven with infant great-grandson, Alex Olcott.
