Police arrested a man on Friday for allegedly stealing over $4,000 worth of diesel fuel from a Grand Island gas station.
Last week, Git ‘n Split near Highway 281 and Husker Highway reported incidents of a man in a pickup truck stealing diesel.
Over a period of approximately two weeks, the man reportedly took $4,419 worth of diesel on seven separate occasions, according to police.
Authorities also noted about $3,500 in damage to the fuel pump, though it remains unclear how the thefts were carried out.
On Friday, officers apprehended the pickup driver, identified as Carlos Rodriguez-Padron, on suspicion of felony theft.
