Officials say they have made progress in containing a large wildfire in the Nebraska Sandhills. The Rocky Mountain Complex Incident Management Team, which took over as the lead management of the fire said that 30% of the fire is contained. Favorable weather in the region has aided the fire crews in containing the blaze that started on Sunday afternoon and grew to 15,000 acres in a number of hours. The fire has destroyed the Nebraska State 4-H camp and an observation tower in the area. Officials also said that Mike Moody the Purdum Volunteer Fire Departments Assistant Fire Chief suffered a heart attack while battling the blaze and died on Sunday.
