The fire in Nebraska’s panhandle named the Smokey Fire is now considered 100% contained. The fire, which had been burning since Tuesday last week and that burned 4,348 acres in Banner County. The weather conditions this weekend helped with the containment of the fire. Banner County and McGrew Fire Departments were released from the scene and there are currently no other assets in the area. There’s still areas of smoke from the containment line and Banner County Fire is still continuing to do periodic patrols through the area while the still investigate what caused the fire.
