Daniel D. “Dan” Johnson, 74, of Ord passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 9, 2022; at his home west of Ord, Nebraska.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022; at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ord. Pastor Adam Archer will officiate. Military Honors will be presented at the Church by the Ord VFW Post #7029 and American Legion Post #38. Memorials are suggested to the Family. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Daniel Dwight Johnson was born September 27, 1947, at Berkley, California to Rollie and Wilma (Krikac) Johnson. At the age of 2, Dan and his family settled in Ord, Nebraska where he was raised and graduated from Ord High School in 1965.
Dan served in the Army National Guard from 1966 to 1975. On August 9, 1969; he was united in marriage to Barb Nienhueser at Ord, Nebraska. To this union three children were born, Korey, Michelle and Tenille.
Dan’s spent his life in Ord and worked as a mechanic. He was an auto salesman and mechanic for Johnson Motors and also operated his own mechanic shops. He then went to work as a diesel mechanic for the State of Nebraska Department of Roads.
On January 10, 2015, Dan married Cheryl Ann Lange Johnson. The couple enjoyed living on their acreage west of Ord.
Dan was an outdoorsman; enjoying hunting, fishing, golfing; and also bowled. Dan spent much of this time collecting and selling guns. He loved to visit and spend time with his wife, Cheryl and his family.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl of Ord; three children and their spouses, Korey and Ronda Johnson of Burwell, Michelle Sheldon of Fairport, New York; and Tenille and Eric Rogers of Ord; eight grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Vickie Johnson of Pleasanton; his mother-in-law, Bernadine Lange of Ord; and three step-children, Anastacia Meyer of Omaha, Dylan Meyer of Biloxi, Mississippi; and Britni (Brett) Tucker Hitz of Blair.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
