Arlene K. Leach, 84, of Arcadia passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022; at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell, Nebraska.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022; at the United Methodist Church in Arcadia, Nebraska. Reverend Dr. Jeff D. Hale will officiate. Interment will be in the Lee Park Cemetery west of Arcadia. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Church. Memorials are suggested to the Arcadia Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Arlene Kay was born January 22, 1938, at Arcadia, Nebraska to Lloyd and Virginia (Brown) Lybarger. She grew up in Arcadia where she also received her education.
On September 11, 1953, Arlene was united in marriage to Laddie E. “Ladd” Leach at Arcadia, Nebraska. To this union three daughters and two sons were born. The couple lived in many states before moving to Broken Bow and in 1968, they settled in the Arcadia area. First, on Ladd’s family ranch west of Arcadia then made their home in Arcadia. Arlene resided there for forty years and spent the past year at Grandview in Ord.
Arlene and Ladd operated a training stable in Arcadia and enjoyed Quarter Horse Racing, Barrel Racing and horse competitions. Arlene’s biggest passion was animals; raising exotic animals, dogs and horses. She was very involved in the daily activities of the ranch and also operated the Comstock Café’.
Arlene enjoyed spending time in her vegetable and flower gardens. Her best times were spent with family; visits from the grandkids and always having fun activities and treats for them.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Dan Hurlburt of Arcadia, Kally and Rob Weininger of Washington, and Lisa and John Sheets of Arcadia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Luella Leach of Arcadia and Marty and Jessica Leach of Ashton; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ladd who passed away on November 17, 2009; and a brother, Marvin Lybarger.
