Ord Junior Senior High School was evacuated this Wednesday morning. Talking to officials on site at the school, students were transported
to another site, where they will stay until given an all clear message.
Valley County Sheriff’s officials along with the Ord police department and members of the Nebraska State Patrol were surrounding the school. According
to officers on site, the bomb squad was requested.
An all clear was given at OHS at about 11:45.
Here is an e-mail statement from Dr. Heather Nebesniak..
Shortly before 11:00 Local Law Enforcement notified the Ord High School that the building should be evacuated due to a 911 call indicating a suspicious bag in the school. Students and staff evacuated to the designated evacuation site. Law enforcement searched the building and indicated that the building was clear and safe to return. Students and staff returned to school once the all clear was given at approximately 11:35. It was reported that other schools and agencies received a similar call. Law enforcement will be following up on the source of the call as making a fraudulent call is a crime. As always, the safety of our students is paramount and the first priority. We thank the local law enforcement for helping to keep our schools safe.
