Lindsey E. Ellmers, 42, of Ord passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at CHI St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, Nebraska surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church in Ord. Pastor Spenser Johnson will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Arthritis National Research Foundation. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Lindsey Erin was born August 15, 1979, to Larry Plouffe and JoAnn J. (Marker) Ellmers. She was raised in Ord and Burwell; and received the majority of her education at Burwell then graduated from Ord High School in 1997.
Lindsey continued her education at UNK and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. She pursed a career in criminal justice while residing and working in corrections in Maine and Lincoln, Nebraska. In 2007, Lindsey returned to Ord and continued to work in the corrections at Grand Island. While in Ord, Lindsey recently was working at DHHS and part-time at Mid Nebraska Individual Services.
Lindsey spent her entire life caring for people. She had a huge heart and always put others first. She cared for her clients, friends and family and had an impact on the many lives she touched. She enjoyed fishing, music and her animals, Hurley and Zoe.
Survivors include her mother, JoAnn Ellmers of Ord; a sister, Lisa Bower of Ord; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Kim Bower of Humphrey and Jeff and Jamie Bower of Hickman; five nephews; one niece; four great-nieces; one great-nephew; and Jessie Dancer and Skyler Probst both of Ord, who Lindsey cared for and parented.
