
Lorna May Dodge, 87, of Ord passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, at the Westfield Quality Care at Aurora, Nebraska.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Pastor Kyle Campise will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Arcadia Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Lorna May was born July 27, 1934, at Loup City, Nebraska to W. Ray and Mary Rosetta (Whiting) Wooden. The youngest of seven children, she was raised in the Loup City area and received her early education at Wiggle Creek District #59 and Moon Creek District #14. She graduated from Loup City High School in 1951, at the age of 16, the youngest in her class of 45 students.
After graduation she worked in California for a couple years before marrying Donald Stoudt on April 11, 1953. She returned to Nebraska in 1955, and married Darrel Drake on August 6, 1956. She enjoyed reading, music, playing the piano, dancing, card games, and sewing. She made a quilt for each grandchild, great grandchild and several for her kids. She was happiest when her kids, grandkids, great grandkids and nieces and nephews would visit. She married her love, Jim Dodge on November 23, 1991.
Survivors include four sons, Steven R. Drake (Eileen Hallquist) of Indianola, Washington, Corby Ray Drake (Jerene) of Ord, Duane A. Drake (Stacy) of Lincoln and Larry D. Drake (Lanny Johnson) of Kearney; two daughters, Susan M. Hawley (Rick) of Omaha and Noralie Drake of Tacoma, Washington; twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim R. Dodge; a son, Todd Drake; three brothers, Gerald, Wilber and Roy Wooden; and three sisters, Alice Harris, Fern Welchman and Shirley Townsend.
