Mary Jane Keezer, 86, of Ord, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Arbor Care Center in Ord.
Jane’s wishes were to be cremated. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Ericson. Father Tom Ryan will be the Celebrant. Inurnment will be in the Bartlett Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Family’s Choice. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mary Jane was born February 8, 1935, at Scotia, Nebraska to Oren Emerson and Rosine Ann (Lloyd) Carr. She was raised in the rural Scotia area where she received her education.
On August 14, 1950, Jane was united in marriage to Donald Keezer at Red Cloud, Nebraska. The couple spent their married life in Central Nebraska and raised their three sons. In 1962, they settled in Doniphan. During that time Jane worked at the Grand Island Veteran’s Home and St. Francis Hospital. In 1990, they moved to Ericson and Jane babysat for a local family. Don passed away in 1998, and then Jane began working for Werner Construction. She has made her home at Parkview Village, Grandview Assisted Living Center and Arbor Care Center in Ord for many years.
Jane was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church of Ericson, VFW Auxiliary and the Standard Quarter Horse Association. She enjoyed crocheting and knitted many blankets.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Rusty of Central City and Charles and Susie of Monroe; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Carr of North Loup.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; a son, Bruce Keezer; two brothers, William and Jimmie Carr; and three sisters, Clara Mavis Shultz, Delores Carr and Ruby Brown.
