
Joseph Windle Ivester, 50, of Sargent, Nebraska died October 13, 2021 at the Great Plains Health Hospital in North Platte, Nebraska.
There will be Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. at the Sargent Community Center on Saturday, October 16, 2021. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, from 5 -7 p.m. at the Sargent Community Center. Memorials are suggested to the Sargent Fire Department. Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
Joe was born January 22, 1971 in Portland, Oregon to Eugene and Paulette (Imbler) Ivester. He graduated from Rex Putnam High School in Milwaukie, Oregon. Following graduation, he entered the United States Army. After he was honorably discharged, he married Shawna Dishman. They lived in the Portland area. Joe worked on fishing boats in Alaska. They moved to Nebraska in the early 1990’s and were later divorced. While living in Sargent, Nebraska he worked for different farmers and ranchers. He owned the bar in Eddyville and the gas station in Mason City. He has worked as a mechanic at Burwell Feeders since 2015. In 2017 he met Ann Herrick and they lived in Sargent.
Joe was a mechanic, welder, horse shoe artist, and a collector of everything. He was a kind hearted person and was always willing to help anyone.
Joe is survived by his significant other, Ann Herrick of Sargent, Nebraska. Sons, Joe Ivester of Broken Bow, Nebraska, Dakota Ivester of Fairview, Oregon and Scott Drain of Gladstone, Oregon. His dad, Gene Ivester of Fruitland, Idaho. His mom, Paulette and Frank Reischman of Gladstone, Oregon. A brother, Billy of Australia and a sister, Brandee and Miguel of Gladstone, Oregon.
