Wilda was a hard worker, a typical rancher’s wife of those times. Gardening and canning produce, raising and butchering chickens, milking cows, putting up hay and raising kids! She grew up driving work horses. After she was married and was raking hay with a team, she raked over a bumblebee nest, and the horses ran off. She fell off the seat and into the rake. She thought she was dead but at some point the rake dumped and released her. Later she graduated to raking hay with a Willy’s Jeep. She could babysit a kid or two, they would sleep in the back while she raked.
She loved to garden and plant flowers. She spent many hours in her flower beds after retirement.
