Gale L. Cargill, 54, of Scotia passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the CHI St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island with his family by his side after a courageous 3 ½ year battle with cancer.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the Seventh Day Baptist Church in North Loup. Pastor Scott Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Scotia. Due to limited space for the funeral service the family will greet friends during the visitation on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Seventh Day Baptist Church. Memorials are suggested to the Family’s Choice. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Gale LeRoy was born January 11, 1967, at Ord, Nebraska to Ronald and Shirley (Severance) Cargill. He resided on the family farm north of Scotia and received his education at Horace Rural School and graduated from North Loup-Scotia High School in 1985.
Gale continued his education at NCTA at Curtis, Nebraska. Following his college graduation he returned to the family farm. On November 6, 1993, he was united in marriage to Angela Bremerman at Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner, Nebraska. The couple made their home on the family farm north of Scotia where they raised their three children, Nicole, Kelsey and Trevor.
Gale had a love for farming and ranching. He also worked at the local sale barns including, Ericson Spalding Livestock Market, Loup City Commission Company and the Burwell Sale Barn.
Gale enjoyed his horses and cows; but mostly loved the time spent with his family. He also was passionate about team penning, ranch rodeos, softball; and family yard games. Gale was a lifelong member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Angie of Scotia; their three children, Nicole of Rockport, Missouri, Kelsey and her fiancé’ Kolin Ruppert both of Pierce, and Trevor of Scotia; his parents; Ron and Shirley Cargill of Scotia; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Loretta and Melvin Hair of Brownell, Kansas and Twila Leth of Ord; and many other relatives and friends.
