Arnold Eugene Hoerle “Arnie” ,77, of Amelia, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday July 7th at his home. He was born on July 22, 1942 in Burwell, Nebraska to Leo and Lola (Chipps) Hoerle. As a child he attended District 22 country school and graduated from Wheeler County High School in 1960. After high school he joined the Army and was stationed in Ft Jackson, South Carolina, being Honorably discharged and completed his remaining service through the Army National Guard of Nebraska. After his service he returned to the area and worked various jobs including ranch work.
On December 27, 1962 he married Marietta Irene Perrott. To this union 4 children were born, Brenda A, Angela M, Susan D, and Lee E. Arnie and Irene moved to a ranch near Amelia in 1966 where they raised their children and lived the remainder of their lives. He loved ranching and was proud of what he had created over the many years of hard work.
Arnie enjoyed stock car racing and raced in the Hoerle Racing Team with his cousins Ron and Jim Hoerle. He would work all day on the ranch and still would go back out to the shop to work on his stock car after supper for the races that week. He was very talented with metal fabrication and building trailers and grill guards. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Chambers, Nebraska.
Arnie was preceded in death by his father Leo, mother Lola, wife Irene, father-in-law Joe Perrott, mother-in-law Gladys Perrott sister-in-law Martha Hoerle, and son-in-law John Baker.
He is survived by his older brother Dave Hoerle of Bartlett, children Brenda Baker of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Angie (Greg) Anderson of Juniata, Nebraska, Susie (Chad) Hoerle of Westminster, Colorado, Lee (Stephanie) Hoerle of Burwell, Nebraska. Grandchildren Madison and Dylan Anderson of Juniata, Grace Baker of Cheyenne, brother-in-law Vernon (Nancy) Perrott of Burwell, nieces and nephews along with many more extended family, friends, and neighbors who loved him and will miss him dearly.
Military graveside services will be held Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Cottonwood Cemetery in Burwell, Nebraska. Pastor Jon Franson will officiate. No visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for a later designation. Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell is in charge of arrangements. There will be a lunch following the service at the 83 Grand in Burwell.
