LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan University junior linebacker Kaden Dawe has been named the American Rivers Conference Football Defensive Player-of-the-Week for the first week of the regular season.
Dawe (Ord, Neb.) led the Prairie Wolves with 12 total tackles in his first career start at linebacker in NWU’s 49-35 victory over Westminster College. Besides his 12 tackles, Dawe recorded an interception and returned it 17 yards and also recovered a fumble. He was a part of both takeaways for the Prairie Wolves defense.
He becomes the first NWU football player to earn conference defensive player of the week honors since 2016.
Nebraska Wesleyan is back at home this Saturday (Sept. 14) to host Illinois College at Abel Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 1 pm. The Prairie Wolves are looking for their first 2-0 start to a season since 2006.
