The North Central District Health Department (NCDHD) will be conducting a Strategic National Stockpile Distribution Exercise September 11th-12th. This exercise will involve several local partners including: Good Samaritan Society Bloomfield & Atkinson, Butte Senior Living, Avera Creighton, Antelope Memorial Hospital, and West Holt Hospital.
The point of this exercise is to test and better prepare area response plans for an outbreak event. NCDHD will work with participants to request, distribute and dispense lifesaving medications. These medications come from the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS). The SNS is a repository of medication and other medical materiel that can be utilized in a disaster event when local stores run short. Examples of products in this repository include: antibiotics, vaccines, antitoxins, and IV fluids.
