Freda Wynona Marshall, 92, of Burwell, Nebraska died July 3, 2019 at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell, Nebraska. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Burwell. Pastor Marty Robbins will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before service time. Memorials are suggested to the special Olympics.
Wynona was born May 2, 1927 in Garfield County, Nebraska to George and Bonnie (Conner) Brewer. They moved to Loup County, Nebraska, where she started school. They then moved back to the Burwell area, where she went to school from the second grade through the eighth grade. Wynona did housework until she was seventeen years old. She then worked for Dr. Cram for four years, while getting an LPN certificate. She worked at the Ord Hospital for thirty years.
Wynona married Charles Edwin Marshall on August 27, 1949. In 1954 they moved to Ord, Nebraska and she worked as a nurse, retiring in 2005.
She enjoyed riding a horse on the farm, crocheting, knitting, and was a member of the Women’s Bowling Association and kept score for many of the Ord bowling leagues. She was an ambulance attendant for many years. She crocheted may angels that she gave away.
Wynona is survived by two sons, Ronald Marshall of Ord, Nebraska and Rex Marshall of Grand Island, Nebraska. Two granddaughters, Amber and Ryan Ross of Cozad, Nebraska and Lindsey Marshall of Grand Island, Nebraska and five great-grandchildren. And a sister, Bonnie and Richard Carney of Central City, Nebraska, many nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Helen Brewer of Alda, Nebraska.
Wynona was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Margaret Melrae Kovarik and two brothers, William Lett Brewer and Floyd Robert Brewer.
