It was a tough 10 days in Huron, South Dakota for the 15th National Junior High Finals Rodeo, but we were able to crown world champions on June 29th.
Bareback Steer Riding World Champion is Westin Barnett, of Arkansas.
Boys Breakaway World Champion is Connor Barton from Texas.
Girls Breakaway World Champion is Amy Ohrt of Texas. Makayla Wray of Ord ended the week 13th in the Nation in Girls Breakaway Roping.
Barrel Racing World Champion is South Dakota’s Brylee Grubb.
Tie-Down Roping World Champion is Mason Stueve of Kansas. Cooper Phillips of Burwell ended the week 3rd in the Nation in Tie Down Roping. And Layne Wallinger of Stuart ended the week 16th.
Saddle Bronc Steer Riding World Champion is Benny Proffitt from Texas.
Ribbon Roping World Champions are Gator Goodrich and Adriene Steffen from Oregon. Tate Talkington of Scottsbluff and Jace Hurlburt of Arcadia finished the week 9th in the Nation in Ribbon Roping. While Layne Wallinger of Stuart and Kirsten Koenig of Ewing finished the week 11th in the Nation.
Team Roping World Champions are Carter Anderson and Sage Schrunk of Nebraska.
Girls Goat Tying World Champion is Jessi Everett from Texas.
Boy’s Goat Tying World Champion is Tate Talkington of Scottsbluff, NE. Cooper Phillips of Burwell finished the week 4th in the Nation in Boys Goat Tying.
Chute Dogging World Champion hails from New York and that is Layne Shampang. Sage Schrunk of Valentine ended the week 17th in the Nation in Chute Dogging.
Pole Bending World Champion is Jaylee Lane from Texas. Tatum Reid of Crawford ended the week 9th in the Nation in Pole Bending.
Bull Riding World Champion is Bryne Wilson from Texas.
Boys All-Around World Champion title was awarded to Benny Proffitt of Texas with a total of 1,135 points. Tate Talkington of Scottsbluff was 3rd with 1,240 points, Cooper Phillipps of Burwell was 5th with 1,080 points.
Girls All-Around World Champion title went to Kenna McLemore of Oklahoma. Kenna racked up a total of 1,285 points to help her claim the title.
Rookie All Around Boy is Garrett Jepsen, from NV and Rookie Girls All Around is Gentry Goza of Colorado. Garrett scored 870 points and Gentry hit the top spot with 670 points. Tatum Reid, of Crawford was 7th in the Rookie Girls All Around with 330 points.
Team Texas swept the team titles clinching the Boy’s, Girl’s and National titles. The boy’s team scored 9,520 points. The girl’s team had 3,700 points. The overall team came in at 12, 780 points.
The Nebraska Girls team finished the week 13th with 1,320 points, and the Nebraska Boys team was 4th with 3,735 points. The team as a whole ended the week 7th with 4,275 points total.
