Vivian Sue Walkup, 60, of Ord passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at her home in Ord.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the Heartland Assembly of God Church in Ord. Pastors Tom Burkholder and Stefanie Hayes will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the Valley County Museum or to the Family. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Vivian Sue was born July 9, 1958, at Omaha, Nebraska to Gordon Dean and Joyce Ann (Hosch) Walkup. At the age of four the family moved from Nebraska to California. Sue lived in Simi Valley, CA and graduated from Royal High School in 1976.
While living in California, Sue worked as an insurance agent. She moved to Nebraska and was a jailor at the Valley County Jail in Ord and later worked as a clerk at Casey’s General Store. For the past years she has been a receptionist at the Valley County Health System.
Sue volunteered in many capacities including the Valley County Museum and with BINGO at Grandview, and the Valley View Senior Village. She enjoyed the Frog Classes at VCHS; sewing, mending and making crafts, especially for the front desk at VCHS. Sue enjoyed helping her friends and was involved at the Heartland Assembly of God Church and First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sisters, Patty Walkup of NE and Joy (Rick) Kronholm of MO; two brothers, Gregory (Karen) Walkup of OR and Carl Walkup of MO; two nephews, Joshua and Jeremy Kronholm; four nieces, Christina (Glenn) Klopka, Misty Walkup, Linda Clubb and Angela Martinez; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; any many aunts and uncles.
