Charles “Chuck” Lundstedt, loving Husband and Father passed away at age 83, Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Brookfield Park in St. Paul.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at the North Loup United Methodist Church with Pastor Bonnie Brock officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery at North Loup. Military Honors will be provided by the Ralph R. Rich American Legion Post #285 of North Loup. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Church. Memorials may be given to the North Loup Fire and Rescue Department, North Loup United Methodist Church or the Loup Valley Memorial Wall in North Loup. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Chuck was born January 6, 1936, at North Loup, Nebraska to Fred and Lona Gertrude (Bohrer) Lundstedt. A 1955 graduate of North Loup High School, he married Leora Hazel Goff of Loup City on May 26, 1957.
Chuck was an avid motorcycle rider and loved touring the country with family and friends. A U.S. Army Veteran of Korea and member of the American Legion, he often rode with the Legion Riders to pay respects to fellow fallen veterans. Chuck spent his adult life as an active member of the North Loup volunteer fire department and was instrumental in the creation of a volunteer group of medical first responders for the town. Every year Chuck was in the town’s fire hall popping popcorn to hand out at Popcorn Days.
Chuck was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church in North Loup. After retiring from over 30 years of owning his own automotive repair shop in North Loup, Chuck enjoyed wood working and created many beautiful works of art. He loved sharing stories with friends and family, and spending time with his dogs.
He is survived by wife, Leora, sons, Mark Lewis and Carl Lundstedt; daughters, Diane Pearson and Karen Larsen; brothers, Robert “Butch” and Dean “Pete” Lundstedt; sister, Mary Lou Daniel; 14 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Patrick Standlea.
