Glendora was born May 4, 1926 in Lebanon, Kansas to Emery and Gladys (Rollins) Lewis.
Glendora married Leonard A. Ingraham on June 27, 1954 in Burwell, Nebraska.
Glendora moved with her family to Garfield County in 1930. Her elementary years were spent at the Erina country school. She graduated from Burwell High School with the class of 1944. Glendora received her teaching certificate from Kearney State College. She taught at Burwell, Taylor, and numerous country schools. Her passion and ability to teach was lifelong from the children she taught in school to her great-granddaughter. When Glendora was young she spent several hours on the back of her horses. Leonard and Glendora loved their cattle, and Glendora could tell you the cows tag number from the kitchen window. Often you would find Glendora with a crochet hook, a pencil, or paint brush in her hand. Her passion for art was second to none, she enjoyed drawing, painting, crocheting doilies, playing the piano and singing songs and nursery rhymes with her grandchildren. Glendora was an active member of the Pleasant View Extension Club, Brush Busters Art Club, and American Legion Auxiliary. Glendora had a green thumb. She had several flower gardens, a large vegetable garden, and the African Violets that she loved to grow. She enjoyed God’s creations! Glendora loved watching the sunrise, sunset, and always slowed down to watch the wildlife. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. We always enjoyed a cup of coffee and a sweet of some sort.
Glendora is survived by two children, Beverly and Lloyd Maire of Grand Island, Nebraska and Ronnie and Brenda Ingraham of Burwell, Nebraska. Four grandchildren, Melanie Maire, Mitchell and Mollie Maire, Brandon and Jill Ingraham and Brittany and Michael Minnehan. One great-granddaughter, Claire Faye Ingraham and one great-grandchild on the way.
Glendora was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Leonard on January 16, 2004, a brother, Allan Lewis and three sisters, Opal Maring, Doris Hood and her twin, Lenora Barthel.
