Burwell, NE – The Burwell Longhorns have done it again as they are going to the Class D2 State Championship at Memorial Stadium on Monday Nov. 19 and will play at 2:45 pm against the #1 team in the East, Creighton Bulldogs.
The town of Burwell will rally around the 2018 football team with celebrations. Businesses are encouraged to decorate their windows in support of the Burwell Longhorns. There is no theme to follow other than, “Go Big Purple.”
Judging will be on Friday, November 16 starting at 3:00 pm. The winner will receive a prize and the opportunity to have their picture taken with the Longhorn football team Saturday night during the Pep Rally. Second and Third Place winners will receive a certificate.
On Saturday, November 17 at 6:00 pm in the Burwell High School Commons Room there will be a meal served, followed by a silent and live auction as well as the pep rally. Money raised will help defray the costs of the team’s trip to Lincoln. There will also be a donation bucket at the meal.
Then on Monday, November 19, Fifth Quarter will be held for the team and all fans at the Cornhusker Hotel in Downtown Lincoln.
