KEARNEY — An Alaska-based airline is set to begin service in three Nebraska regional airports, including Kearney.
The U.S. Department of Transportation approved PenAir’s bid for a two-year essential service contract this week. The company has been in operation since 1955.
In Nebraska, it will provide flights to Denver.
The move replaces Kearney’s current provider, Great Lakes Airlines. The other Nebraska airports served by PenAir will be North Platte and Scottsbluff.
